The rude, tall girl in the red top is Siedah Garrett, who had 15 min of fame in the 80’s. According to her website, she has written songs for Aretha Franklin, Al Jareau, Vanessa Williams, Barry White, and others. She co-wrote “Man in the Mirror” with Michael Jackson. Hers is the female voice you hear on the song, “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” with Michael. I remember her briefly being a star singer in the 80’s, but had no idea about her songwriting career until I checked her website.

Seeing as how she’s still active in the music industry, I’d hardly say she only had 15 minutes of fame…

Oh, and she also had a TV pilot that never got picked up on NBC called Wally and the Valentines. It also featured William Ragsdale, who would later star in Herman’s Head, singer Trey Larenz and Cindy Herron, who would later become a founding member of En Vogue.

“Active” does not equal “fame”. I did mention that she wrote with all those celebrities, but you can do things like that and not be known for it. Like I said, she was famous in the 80’s, but not lately. When was the last time you heard her name mentioned?

I saw her on reruns of Password recently, taped before she became “famous”.
